Play Two
BY EMA RADULESCU
I miss all the people I met
when I first opened my eyes in this world.
They’re not here anymore,
or they’re just half here.
So I keep all of them
on the scene inside my head.
I let them play there.
They have their roles,
I am their scene.
When I was a kid, I said I would become an actress.
I play all their roles now.
They fight most of the time,
so I have to play two.
Play two.
One versus one.
I forgot a long time ago
who is behind these
much misinterpreted masks.
