Unaccompanied

BY NATHANIEL TERRELL

Microscopic in fluids was my origin
The form of ashes will symbolize my return

Do not bury my carcass in a sealed casket
Release my remnants from a sable urn

The last decade the road was rocky and harsh
The start of this year, the path is paved smooth

I sought God for direction
Submission gave me the power to rule

It’s not good to look back
When I’m alone, I often reminisce

I had to fly far away
From places that I no longer fit

I see the big picture
I appreciate the little things
I thrive from day to day

I don’t consider you an enemy
We’re too deadly to be allies
A good rivalry keeps a proper balance in place
