New Day

BY MARIANNE TEFFT

Like the golden tulip
That overwinters silently
Untouched and undisturbed
I wanted nothing more
Than to cling to blindness
To rest untroubled in the dark
Yet sunrise brings all things to light
And at the dawn of this new day
I am grateful Mother Nature
Knows so much more than me
